Contact Us Button
Looking at the title of this post, a noob developer might wonder what that term means. For those familiar with web design and web development though, it has a clear meaning. It’s one of those buttons on a website which says “Contact Us”, or it could be one that says “Contact Me” in the event the site is individually owned, instead of run by a company or family. For years, web developers have been creating websites, widgets and scripts to assist the casual web designer or blogger in providing such a tool on their website. This concept piqued my interest then, in a website for sale at Flippa recently, called nothing-less-than Contact Me Button.
Contact Me Button .com was the brain child of Michael Szabados who orchestrated it’s development and implementation, not only as a website tool, but also as a tool for blogging and emailing. This script, however, goes a lot further then just providing a simple button and form for people to use as a point of contact; it provides users with a way to chat, IM, or text the owners of a website, real-time. That helped to set this website apart from all others online which provide similar services.
Why was Michael selling then? An upcoming addition to the family was going to preoccupy more of his time. Having been in the web development field for more than a decade now, I have grown to appreciate this as one of the frequent reasons developers part with some of their better websites!
I jumped into the bidding and was successful into acquiring the website from Michael!
Now that I own it though, what am I to do with it? Stay tuned!
